Open Championships

The Open Championships are open to norths Club members and are played at the end of the year.

There are five divisions of play

All players will be eligible to play in one division of Open or Capped and those who meet the entry requirements may choose to play in one or more of the other draws.

The draw will be conducted as a round robin style with points awarded for both participation and wins. There are prizes for the winners and runners up of each division. Additionally, the winner of each grade has their name put on the honour boards in the viewing gallery of the courts and the squash club website.

The results should be emailed to the club captain ( captain@northssquash.com ) as soon as possible after the match.

Current standings can be found here.

Please arrange the time for your match with your opponent at an agreed day and time. Make a court booking through the internal club booking sheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E8QqOI3fUihqgFA5zM_Nnufhz7tU6xVLxN-WHrD_WBQ/edit ) or book a court through norths Fitness (note: court booking made through norths Fitness will incur a cost).

Please do try to accommodate your opponent if they have suggested a number of possible times to play your match. If you are unable to play your match despite multiple attempts to agree a suitable time, then you must forfeit your match. We have many matches to play and a limited time to play them, so please try to be as flexible as possible.

All matches are in the same format as pennant games (‘point a rally’ to 15 points, best of 5 games). In following the latest pennant format, games must be won by 2 points (e.g. 15-13, 16-14, 17-15, 18-16 etc). Games are to be refereed and scored by you and your opponent unless you arrange a referee prior to your match.
